How We Pick
OddityTrend is a gift and gadget guide for things that are odd, funny and still worth owning. This page explains how we choose what goes in a guide, so you can judge our picks for yourself.
What makes a pick
- Genuinely odd or funny. It should get a reaction when it is unwrapped.
- Still useful afterwards. We prefer gifts people keep using in March, not ones that end up in a drawer.
- Inside the budget. Every pick sits in a stated band: Under $10, $10 to $25, $25 to $60, or Splurge.
- A sound review pattern. We read what buyers repeatedly praise and complain about, and we skip products with recurring quality or safety complaints.
- Fair returns. We prefer items that are easy to return if the recipient does not like them.
What we have and have not done
We research and compare products using public listings, buyer reviews and maker information. We have not hands-on tested a product unless the pick says so. We never present research as testing.
Prices
We show budget bands, not exact prices, because prices change often. Check the current price on the seller page before you buy.
How we earn
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. If you buy through a link on this site we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Commissions never decide what we recommend, and we do not accept payment for placement.
